About Me
Hello and welcome!
I’m Rita Siaw , a professional teacher, author, and Mandela Washington Fellow passionate about using stories to spark curiosity, empathy, and action in young minds. With over eight years of teaching experience in both Ghana and the UK, I’ve seen first-hand how books can open worlds, bridge cultures, and inspire dreams.
My debut children’s book, Golina’s Glorious Quests, is more than an adventure—it’s a celebration of diversity, a call to protect endangered wildlife, and a reminder of the kindness we all carry within. Through my nonprofit, Feminine Star Africa, I extend this vision beyond the page by championing literacy and education in rural schools across Ghana and DRC Congo.
Whether I’m writing, teaching, or creating community projects, my mission remains the same: to empower the next generation with the knowledge, courage, and compassion they need to change the world.

We brighten the world of women and girls and give them wings to reach their dreams!
Feminine Star Africa is a nonprofit that transforms the lives of women, children, and rural communities through education, empowerment, and opportunity. Since its beginning, FSA has mentored 10,000+ students, awarded 200+ scholarships, trained over 1,700 teachers, supported 150+ women with micro-business and agro initiatives, built school sanitation facilities, and equipped rural schools with computers and library books.
At the heart of our work is Lit for Life: Mini Library Project, which is our way of planting hope through books. By donating books filled with relatable African and global children’s stories, we nurture a love of reading, spark creativity, and inspire children to imagine themselves as writers, dreamers, and future leaders.
For our founder, an author of children’s and youth literature, this project is deeply personal. Each mini library is more than shelves of books. It’s a doorway to possibility and a quiet promise that today’s readers can become tomorrow’s storytellers and change-makers.
